Expertise:
Numerical modelling, multispecies stock assessment
In MERP I will be building on prototype methods being developed (Thorpe, CEFAS) for using StrathE2E outputs to advise MSFD and OSPAR assessments of the North Sea, and EwE models for the West of Scotland. This approach involves a range of sensitivity analyses to climate and fishing drivers and looks at the whole ecosystem response, not just that of the fish community. We will consider the perspectives of key customers, ICES, OSPAR, and other MSFD actors and extend the newly coupled models to incorporate economic and social outputs.
